Zvizdić and Plenković Discuss Relations between BiH and Croatia

DAVOS, (Patria) - Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Zvizdić met today with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković in Davos, Zvizdić announced on Twitter.

Zvizdić and Plenković discussed the current situation and the improvement of relations between the two countries.

Zvizdić is attending the World Economic Forum and is one of 3,500 participants, including 65 heads of state and government, as well as 40 leaders of international organizations. Today, he participated in a panel on the Western Balkans titled "Building Strong Partnerships for Growth and Peace in the Western Balkans.".

During his address to the participants, Zvizdić spoke about regional cooperation and the challenges along that path. He said that the best way to cooperate is for all issues - especially those concerning open bilateral disputes - to be resolved through continuous dialogue, mutual respect, and adherence to internationally recognized facts.

- In this regard, I see the monitoring of good experiences we established with Montenegro by signing the Border Agreement in 2015 as a good example for strengthening good neighborly relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and further improving regional and bilateral cooperation - said Chairman Zvizdić during his address.

He invited his colleagues from Croatia and Serbia to conclude border agreements in the spirit of the declarations signed at the Western Balkans Summit, and by closing this chapter, to ensure that the focus of future relations is on economic, cultural, social, and other issues important for improving the living standards of citizens.

He emphasized that the regional cooperation process has recorded very encouraging progress in all spheres in recent years, especially within the framework of the Berlin Process, particularly in the area of infrastructural connectivity, as well as strengthening cooperation within the regional economic area, and expressed hope that, despite existing challenges, these processes will nevertheless be put back on the right track. In his address, Chairman Zvizdić also highlighted unilaterally made decisions that violate contractually accepted obligations under the CEFTA agreement, and called on the Kosovo authorities to return trade relations to the framework of the accepted rules of the CEFTA agreement in the coming period.

He also said that Bosnia and Herzegovina, as before, will remain a partner for all areas and topics that will enable stable, prosperous, and successful cooperation for each country individually, and for the region as a whole.

Yesterday, he attended an informal gathering of world economic leaders titled 'Peak or Pivot for Europe?', which discussed the need to strengthen the European Union and define the EU's foreign policy priorities.
