Zvizdić on Berlin meeting: Finalise border agreements with Croatia and Serbia

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Denis Zvizdić, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at the invitation of German Chancellor Angela Merkel, travelled to Berlin today where a meeting will be held tomorrow with leaders from the Western Balkan countries, jointly organised by Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron. Zvizdić said that the meeting of Western Balkan representatives with Merkel and Macron comes at a crucial moment.

''This is an extremely important meeting, important for several reasons. First of all, because it was convened at the invitation of two key European leaders, Angela Merkel and Emmanuel Macron. The meeting comes at a time when Zagreb is facing key challenges. On the one hand, it witnesses positive processes, but we also witness negative tendencies in the processes of reconciliation and security in the region'', said Zvizdić at Sarajevo International Airport, N1 reports.

Zvizdić said that he will present the true truth about the events in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"I will demand that the sovereignty of BiH be respected and that our neighbours finally finish with Bosnia and Herzegovina, that we finalise the border agreements with Croatia and Serbia. We must respect the basic principle of the European Union regarding the inviolability of borders'', he added.

Zvizdić believes that part of the talks will be dedicated to relations between Serbia and Kosovo.

''It is quite certain that the relations between Belgrade and Pristina will be discussed because it is in a way a neuralgic point. We will accept any sustainable agreement between Belgrade and Pristina that will not have negative implications either for Bosnia and Herzegovina or for the Western Balkans'', Zvizdić stated.

The meeting with Merkel and Macron will also be attended by the prime ministers and presidents of Kosovo and Serbia, the President of Montenegro, the Prime Minister of Albania, the prime ministers of North Macedonia, Slovenia and Croatia.
