EVIL INTENTS OF HAZU: Milanović, HDZ, Schmidt on the Roadmap to a Third Entity

Professor David Pettigrew, speaking on the topic of the crisis of BiH's sovereignty, which was the theme of the Krug 99 session, warned about the actions of Serbia and Croatia based on documents from their intellectual giants, HAZU and SANU.

Bosnia and Herzegovina currently has no adequate responses to the persistent and systematic attacks on BiH's sovereignty. The fragmentation of political options that have the state of BiH as their primary goal in their statutes is one of the reasons for the lukewarm and inadequate response to the dangerous policies from Serbia and Croatia.

In fact, we are in a situation where all those who believe and hope that things can get better are met with contempt and questions like 'why should anything change now, when it hasn't for years,' while anyone who asks the counter-question 'and why shouldn't it be better?' is declared a radical.

Because HAZU reminded us of Zagreb's aggressive plans towards Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Today, we practically see this through the behavior of Zoran Milanović and Andrej Plenković, but what is much more dangerous, through the actions of the High Representative in BiH, Christian Schmidt.

"In a document reminiscent of the SANU Memorandum, the HAZU Memorandum states that Bosnian Croats are being persecuted and their basic human rights are being violated," stated Prof. Pettigrew.

We checked exactly what is written there and concluded that in every comma of this document, the actions of the Croatian authorities, as well as the local HDZ and Dragan Čović, can be recognized.

"Resolve the biggest challenge in BiH that Croats are currently facing through two irreconcilable policies, the Serbian secessionist and the Bosniak unitarist. Although Croats are a minority in a multi-national community, it does not mean they have fewer rights. By the 1992 referendum, they opted for a BiH of equal constituent peoples. BiH must, at all costs, abandon the forceful coercion of Croats into a community that tramples their fundamental human and collective rights.

They should be provided with modern mechanisms for the protection of vital interests, and at all costs, the election of the Croatian member of the BiH Presidency and the election of members to the House of Representatives and the House of Peoples, both of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH and the Parliament of the Federation of BiH. Without this, they are forced, as subjects, to leave their centuries-old habitats in the historical Croatian ethnic territory," states the HAZU Memorandum on their official website.

HAZU has never explained what it means that "Croatian rights in Bosnia" must be achieved "at all costs"? What kind of threat is that?

Schmidt himself admitted that part of his reform was designed to satisfy the Ljubić case, which raised the issue of legitimate representation of Croats.

Although, it is true, he noted that with this, the Ljubić ruling was implemented, the HDZ BiH does not give up on the issue of filling the BiH Presidency, which is, in turn, ultimately inserted into the Agreement that HDZ BiH signs with the 'eight,' regarding the establishment of authority, both executive and legislative.

The separatism of Milorad Dodik does not bother the Croats, especially not Zoran Milanović, who is determined to portray Bosniaks as a 'mob' that needs to be 'democratized' before EU entry, as if anyone still believes such a scenario is possible. Because candidate status does not mean EU entry, as Turkey can best explain to us.

But fulfilling the wishes of Čović and HDZ, which they achieved through blockades, is too high a price for candidate status.

A partnership with Dodik is desirable for them, because 'Bosnia whole from three parts' is easier to achieve in cooperation with SNSD.

The HAZU Memorandum also insists that the equality of the Croatian people must be ensured through a third entity and all the rights arising from it.

"Recognize the true, liberating role of Croatia and Croats in the establishment and defense of the state from Serbian aggression and stop falsely accusing Croats before courts; ensure the equality of the Croatian people, i.e., a third entity and all rights arising from it; immediately ensure the equality of the Croatian language and freedom of operation for Croatian media and cultural institutions," states the HAZU Memorandum.

This is also one of the proofs that the policy from Croatia is not at the level of incidents by individuals like Zoran Milanović or Andrej Plenković (depending on who suits whom at the moment), but that it is a strategy aligned with what HAZU writes.

It is not just by chance that Milanović started saying that without the HV and HVO, Bosnia and Herzegovina would not be a free state today – he is actually introducing the 'deep thoughts' of Croatian academics into the public space, glorifying the 'liberating role.'

And now it is evident that Schmidt's decision was implemented in the service of the nationalist party of BiH Croats, HDZ, and in the service of the vision described in the Memorandum of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts.

The Bosniak voice was devalued as a result of Schmidt's electoral reform, while the voice of the Bosnian Croat was overvalued.

"Actualize the need to respect the assumed obligations from signed agreements and arrangements – protection of the rights of Croats; real, not just declarative, right to unhindered return and free disposal of property for all those who had to leave their homes during the war in the area of the former Yugoslavia; the issue of borders – the difference between declarative and actual fulfillment of obligations; the issue of the constituent status of the Croatian people," the Memorandum further states.

And the most devastating of all is the lack of reaction from the institutions of the state of BiH, as well as the absence of a strategy and concrete guidelines for the defense and strengthening of the state of BiH by the ANU BiH!

And all this is even more devastating due to the fact that American and world professors care more about Bosnia and Herzegovina than Bosnian politicians and intellectuals.
