Women in Black Serbia: WE REMEMBER - Sarajevo is a symbol of the savage destruction of cities in war

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - We remember the siege of Sarajevo, a performance organized by the Women in Black Association from Serbia, which was held today in the Serbian capital.

"28 years have passed since the beginning of the siege of Sarajevo and the war in BiH, April 6, 1992 – April 6, 2020," stated the Facebook page of Women in Black Serbia.

"After the recognition of BiH as an independent state, on April 6, 1992, the siege of Sarajevo by Serbian armed formations began. Despite the UN declaring the city of Sarajevo a protected zone, the siege of the city began, which lasted 1,475 days, during which over 11,000 adults and over 1,600 children were killed, and over 480,000 projectiles were fired at the city... Sarajevo became a symbol of the savage destruction of cities in war..." they stated in the post.

"Therefore, we, Women in Black: Remember the suffering of people in Sarajevo and the killing of the city, Express solidarity, respect, and compassion for the victims, Demand accountability for the crimes committed in Bosnia and Herzegovina, primarily for the crimes committed in our name, by Serbian armed formations, as well as for all other crimes. We remember!" stated Women in Black Serbia.
