A delegation from the "Krog" Institute from Koper (Slovenia) recently visited 20 socially disadvantaged children and children without one parent from Konjević Polje, Bratunac, Milići, Nova Kasaba, Kamenica, Križevići, Osat and surrounding areas, who will spend their holiday on the Slovenian coast from June 12 to 19, organized by the Krog Institute in cooperation with MuslimAid BiH, and visit Ljubljana as part of the traditional humanitarian project "Give a Smile" supported by ABDS d.o.o. Sarajevo, reports the Patria News Agency.

The children will stay at the "Aqupark Žusterna" hotel in Koper for the first six days, and will spend two days in Ljubljana, where they will visit the President of Slovenia, the Zoo, the international exhibition "1001 Inventions", cinema screenings, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia... On the coast, the children will have the opportunity to see the Slovenian coast by boat, explore the marine world at the Aquarium Piran, play bowling, learn to swim, enjoy a concert by Parni Valjak organized by Radio Capris, and visit the towns of Izola, Piran, Koper, Portorož, etc.

Bosnian children will have the opportunity to socialize with Slovenian children from the Anton Ukmar Koper Elementary School, where together they will, through a program, commemorate July 11, the European Day of Remembrance of the Genocide in Srebrenica.

As part of their visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, the delegation from the "Krog" Institute also met with the Slovenian Ambassador to BiH, Iztok Grmek, and informed him about the implementation of the mentioned project and other activities related to BiH.

- The Slovenian Ambassador supported their activities and offered cooperation in this regard - says Emina Hadžić.

The "Krog" Institute conducts rehabilitation for socially disadvantaged primary school children and other humanitarian activities for children from Slovenia and Southeastern Europe. So far, over 800 children have been included in the program. Among the financiers of this project until 2012 was the Government of the Republic of Slovenia through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The "Give a Smile" project has been implemented since 2004, and its goal is to increase the level of tolerance, self-confidence, and self-worth in children, establish social inclusion, connection between children, improve their psychosocial condition, train teachers and professional associates from BiH to work with children in an interactive way, and also enable the project beneficiaries to get to know a part of Slovenia and its culture.
