Protecting property of citizens and legal entities from BiH in Croatia

SARAJevo, (Patria) - The Council of Ministers of BiH considered the Information on activities related to the protection of property and rights of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Republic of Croatia. The Council of Ministers requested the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Finance and Treasury, Ministry of Justice, and the BiH Ombudsman, as well as the BiH representative in the Permanent Joint Committee of Senior Representatives of Successor States, to prepare, each within their jurisdiction, a detailed information with a proposal of measures for the next session in order to protect the property of BiH in the Republic of Croatia, as well as in other neighboring countries. At the same time, it was requested that information be prepared on the implementation of all other annexes to the Succession Agreement.

The Council of Ministers of BiH was informed about the Information from the BiH Ombudsman regarding the resolution of property-legal relations concerning state-owned real estate in the Republic of Croatia.

According to the Information, the BiH Ombudsman has represented and is representing Bosnia and Herzegovina in seven litigation cases in which Bosnia and Herzegovina claimed immovable property from third parties in the Republic of Croatia. All the properties in question are located in the Republic of Croatia, and all proceedings were conducted before the competent courts in this country.

This includes the Sports and Recreation Center in Zaostrog; the Vis Climate Resort; Vila; and the Cavtat Hospital.
