There was little in Srebrenica that after 16 years the Municipal building was consecrated, on the occasion of the Slava (patron saint's day), and the demonstration of force by Serbian parties and the newly elected mayor Mladen Grujičić culminated in a parade of a huge procession led by an SPC priest through the entire city and past the local mosque, writes the Patria news agency.
And all that, it seems, was not enough to send a message to Bosniaks about what Grujičić's policy in Srebrenica would be, so the flags of the Republic of Serbia were also carried through the streets!?
Is this a message that Srebrenica is in Serbia, that all those who deny genocide are now welcome there, and that Bosniaks can pack their bags and forget about Potočari and the 8,372 victims of genocide?
What everyone feared has begun.
The words of Ćamil Duraković have come true, who said that in Srebrenica, the mayor is not chosen between two candidates, but whether a policy that looks to the future will remain on the scene or whether this small town will be taken over by a policy that denies genocide.
