At this moment, it is clear that due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Zagreb summit will not be held physically on May 6 and 7 in Zagreb as planned, Milić said.
Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, President of the Council of the EU, President of the European Council Charles Michel and other partners are consulting on the possibility of holding a video conference at the most suitable time, said the spokesperson of the Government of the Republic of Croatia.
The EU-Western Balkans summit is planned as the central event of Croatia's six-month presidency of the Union, which lasts until June 30.
The Croatian Presidency of the Council of the EU previously announced that it had decided to postpone all informal meetings and conferences that were to be held in Croatia until at least May 15, in order to limit the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and mitigate its effects.
