A car on Friday around 1:30 PM drove onto a tram stop near the market in Trešnjevka, Zagreb. According to initial information, five people were injured, one seriously, reports the BH News Agency Patria.
He is currently in a coma and it is unknown if he will survive.
Three other people were seriously injured - they have broken limbs and head injuries. They were transported to the Traumatology Hospital in Draškovićeva. One woman refused medical assistance and went home, but soon collapsed at home, so the ambulance had to come for her and transfer her to the hospital in Sveti Duh. The driver of the car and one other person sustained minor injuries.
Eyewitness Darko Martinko (35) was on a tram near the market.
- First, there was a crash, the sound of wood breaking and people screaming. Three people were lying motionless on the ground, one person was under the car. I saw them pulling him out. The first to help were merchants from a nearby store, and the ambulance arrived in just a few minutes. The car also knocked down a stand at the stop where comics were sold - said Martinko.
Eyewitnesses said the car driver was between 30 and 40 years old. They say he was conscious and that they also put him in an ambulance; he had a neck brace.
