SDP BiH finds statements unacceptable: Zoran Milanović does not understand the fundamental values of BiH

Statements by the President of the Social Democratic Party of Croatia, Zoran Milanović, about Bosnia and Herzegovina and its peoples are completely unacceptable and only further complicate the political situation in BiH, as well as the region, the SDP BiH announced, reports the Patria News Agency.  

As a party that cherishes the principles of social democracy and firmly believes in the equality of all in BiH, we tell Milanović to come to BiH as soon as possible and try to understand its fundamental values of diversity and coexistence.

These principles and values have survived in BiH, despite the war and nationalist policies that have been destroying them for over 20 years. The least a leader of a social democratic party can do is not to question the values on which a normal country can be built in his statements.

We also believe that there are many reasons why the European Union should admit BiH into its membership ahead of schedule, but it is precisely nationalist politics and rhetoric that prevent the establishment of European standards and the fulfillment of these conditions.

Unfortunately, with such statements, Milanović shows that he does not understand BiH and that he has allowed stereotypes conceived in the kitchens of nationalist camps, alongside theirs, to shape his policy as well.

The Social Democratic Party of BiH expects the SDP of Croatia to pursue a policy of protecting fundamental civic values, which must be respected both in the Republic of Croatia and in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the SDP BiH statement reads.
