The Council of Ministers of BiH, at the proposal of the Ministry of Communications and Transport of BiH, adopted the Decision on the distribution of revenues generated from air navigation services (route charges) in the airspace of Bosnia and Herzegovina for 2016, writes the Patria News Agency.
According to the Decision, the final en-route cost base of BiH for 2016 was adopted in the total amount of 74,992,311.00 KM, including EUROCONTROL costs.
Based on route charges, 40,814,816.00 KM was allocated to the Air Navigation Services Agency of BiH (BHANSA), and 5,764,574.00 KM to the Civil Aviation Directorate of BiH (BHDCA), including EUROCONTROL costs.
At the same time, based on this, 13,152,351.00 KM belongs to the Air Traffic Control Agency of Serbia and Montenegro, and 15,260,570.00 KM to the Croatian Air Navigation Control.
The seriousness with which the Council of Ministers of BiH approached this issue is also evidenced by the fact that as early as 2005, they adopted the Strategy for the Development of the Airspace Management System with an implementation deadline by the end of 2007.
Namely, due to the inability to control its own airspace, BiH loses millions of euros annually and collects only about 50 percent of the total approximately 70 million euros in revenue generated from overflights of BiH territory.
