Vujošević: Serbia is the biggest culprit for the war

The coach of the Bosnia and Herzegovina basketball team Duško Vujošević stated in an interview for the Belgrade-based Nedeljnik that Serbia is the biggest culprit for the war and the breakup of the former Yugoslavia, reports Patria agency.  

- The doors are closed for me here, as long as the situation is as it is. And since I want to work in this region, Bosnia somehow fit me. Also, those true Sarajevo Bosniaks are a gentle people who have suffered a lot and towards whom I feel sympathy and a kind of participation in collective guilt – said Vujošević.

The coach of our basketball players emphasized that he was always for Yugoslavia, but it had to fall apart because the army sided with the Greater Serbia ideology.

- I was for Yugoslavia and I was for anyone I thought was fighting for Yugoslavia. However, it quickly became apparent that this was not the case, that the army was withdrawing to the borders of Greater Serbia. Of course, there is guilt on all sides, but given that Serbia was the most populous and controlled the army, Serbia still bears the greatest responsibility for these wars. Slightly more than others – said Vujošević.

Vujošević also commented on the shelling and siege of Sarajevo.  

- Especially when it comes to Sarajevo, which was bombed so much to concentrate the Bosnian army there, so that other territories could be liberated. As if we were conquering Albania. Well, that was our country – Yugoslavia. What did we conquer then? – Vujošević wonders.
