President of the Republic of Palau, one of the world's smallest countries, visits Vučić

(Patria) - The Republic of Palau is the 13th country to withdraw its recognition of Kosovo's independence. The president of that republic, RTS announced, is staying in Belgrade, where he will meet with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić.

 „I will pay great attention to the President of Palau and the development and understanding in our relations. But we must be realistic, serious, and responsible," Vučić said in the daily news on RTS.

The President of the Republic of Palau since 2012 is Tommy E. Remengesau, writes the Patria agency.

The Republic of Palau is an island nation in the Pacific Ocean, 800 km southeast of the Philippines. It is one of the youngest and smallest countries in the world. It gained independence in 1994, after the mandate of the United Nations Trusteeship Council, administered by the USA, ended.

According to the 2016 census, Palau has about 21,500 inhabitants from five different ethnic groups.
