Vučić's address at the Presidency amid whistles and tear gas

BELGRADE, (Patria) - Aleksandar Vučić held a press conference in the building of the Presidency of Serbia during which whistles were heard from those gathered in front of the building. Vučić said he is not afraid of anything and that he is a tough nut. All entrances to the Presidency of Serbia are blocked, and thousands are gathered in front. A police cordon is in front of the Presidency, and they also used tear gas. Protest leaders are calling on citizens to form a ring around the Presidency building. 

"I am the target because I am carrying out the national consolidation of Serbia and because it is incomparably stronger every day and in every way. I think no one has ever held a press conference in this way. There must be no fear of thugs. I will ask normal and decent people not to participate in violence because everyone will answer before the law."

He called the protest leaders, the leader of the Dveri movement Boško Obradović, the leader of the Alliance for Serbia Dragan Đilas, and Vuk Jeremić, fascists and tycoons.  

"They are not particularly brave to go somewhere further, they report to me that they have broken a fence in front of the Presidency, and that these are not frightened ladies at the RTS news desk."

Vučić said he calculated that he has opened 200 factories and plants in the last five years in Serbia and that he is proud of that.

"Everything that others have never done, they have only closed them. The funniest thing to me is when they say 'Vučić, thief' and that from those who have stolen up to 500 million. The state of Serbia will not allow you to threaten anyone with violence. All of this is illegal, unannounced, but everything is allowed until violence occurs. We allowed everything, but their problem is that fewer and fewer people came. But the noise is getting louder because the fascist Obradović and the tycoons Đilas and Jeremić must return to power. They know that the investigation into the operations of some companies is over. They know how much money was plundered precisely from that RTS. They probably thought I wouldn't dare to speak today. I have no fear, I don't have 500 million euros, I will fight for Serbia. My job is to defend and protect Serbia. Serbia is a democratic country and Serbia will know how to respond in the best way." 

Vučić said that now he knows what Ramush Haradinaj meant when he said he would remove him from power. When asked how he comments on the fact that there was no reaction from foreign embassies to the break-in at the RTS building, Vučić stated that their work is none of his concern and that only the support of the people matters to him. 

Vučić said that the gathered people have broken all the fences but that no one should be afraid because the law enforcement authorities will do their job. He specifically said that journalists will freely do their job and that there will be no more break-ins. 

"I have no problem with shouting and yelling, I have a problem with saws, violence. Do they think they will instill fear in someone with this? Look at the frantic faces of RTS journalists. What should people do with violent individuals?"

When asked whether there will be early parliamentary elections, Vučić said that today they are no further from them than they were yesterday.
