Vučić is no longer SNS president, Miloš Vučević now leads the party

(Patria) - The new president of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) is Miloš Vučević, proposed by the outgoing president Aleksandar Vučić, who, as announced yesterday, has stepped down from the party's leadership.

An extraordinary session was held in Kragujevac, and Vučić said in his address that he would never leave the SNS.

"I am proud to have led the best party all these years," Vučić said.

Vučević became a member of the SNS in 2008 and has been the party's vice-president since 2016. He was elected Mayor of the City of Novi Sad in September 2012, after which he stopped practicing law.

He was re-elected mayor for the second time in July 2016, and for the third time in September 2020.

He resigned from the position of Mayor of Novi Sad on October 24, 2022, and on October 26, he became the Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia and Minister of Defence.
