Vučić on an official visit to Zagreb

ZAGREB, (Patria) - A delegation from Serbia, led by President Aleksandar Vučić, arrives in Croatia today for a two-day visit.

Since President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović announced ten days ago that she had invited Vučić for an official visit, which had been announced and then cancelled at the end of last year, this topic has dominated both countries.

Vučić's landing in Zagreb is expected in the morning hours. HRT writes that Vučić will be welcomed with all state honors at Pantovčak. He will discuss the issue of missing persons, the status of minorities in both countries, economic, and judicial cooperation with President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović. As far as is known so far, the issue of war reparations will not be discussed. A press conference of the two presidents is scheduled for 12:30 PM.

President Vučić will also meet with Prime Minister Andrej Plenković for a working lunch. No statements to the media are planned after this meeting.

Vučić will also meet with the Speaker of the Parliament, Gordan Jandroković.

The program also includes a Croatian-Serbian Business Forum, which will bring together about 30 companies. The trade exchange between Croatia and Serbia is on the rise – in 2016, it reached one billion euros.

Accompanied by the Croatian President, Vučić will visit the Zagreb-Ljubljana Metropolis in the evening. The presidents will hold toasts at a formal dinner. On Tuesday, a visit to Vrginmost is scheduled, followed by the final assembly of the Serbian National Council.

Strong security measures are in place; several hundred people from all segments of the security system have been engaged for the arrival of the Serbian president, Croatian media reported, according to Patria.
