(Patria) - Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić says that for the Serbian people, "only the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SANU), the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC), and the Serbian state are eternal and everlasting".
Addressing the occasion of SANU Day and its 182nd anniversary, Vučić said he fears that next year will be much harder and worse for the entire world, including Serbia, considering the elections that will be held globally, from Thailand, the USA, to Russia and Ukraine.
Vučić assesses that these will present an opportunity for changes and a new establishment of values at the global and political level.
He adds that he also fears that next year will be the hardest in modern Serbian history, but also believes that a large part of the difficulties and problems will end.
- I fear that this year will bring us many more conflicts, many more unrests than the previous year and this one have brought. When I say this, I mean every kind of endangerment of our people in Kosovo, but also in Republika Srpska and in many other parts of our region - emphasized Vučić.
He also stresses that for Serbia and the Serbian people, the "way out is to insist on compromise solutions, although it is known that others, nor those who would determine the fate of the world, do not want them".
- And today I can say with certainty, regardless of the gravity of the problems we face, the magnitude and strength of the pressures that will only increase in the coming period, that we must always strive for compromise, but we must not give up what is ours, we must not give up international public law, nor our territory, nor our people - said Vučić.
He underlines that Serbia would gain nothing, even if it gave up what is being asked of it, despite all the promises they give.
- We would gain nothing at either the tactical or strategic level for our country. It is important to preserve what belongs to our country, to preserve peace, and not to endanger the future of the country, and to wait for a favorable opportunity to present the truth and justice to the world - said Vučić, adding that it is important for Serbia to preserve what belongs to it and to try to preserve peace.
