Vučić: Russia gifting Serbia six MiGs, 30 tanks, and 30 armored vehicles

As support for Serbia, Russia is gifting us six MiG-29 aircraft, and the first phase of their modernization will cost us between 180 and 230 million euros, said Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić after a meeting with Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu, reports "Sputnik", Patria news agency.

"If you were to calculate, if we were to buy such aircraft, they would cost us around 600 million euros. Then you can see how favorable a price we got and how much we received as a gift, at least when it comes to aircraft," said Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić, who is visiting Moscow where he visited one of the Russian combat aviation training grounds.

He added that this dramatically improves the operational capabilities of the Serbian Army, to such an extent that it will not be the same army.

"This is immeasurable compared to what we had. We also received 30 T-72S tanks and 30 BRDM-2 armored reconnaissance vehicles and 14.5 mm barrels (smaller cannons) as a gift," said Vučić.
