Vučić: Political meddlers want to bring me down

Mandatar Aleksandar Vučić stated today that his downfall is actually the ultimate goal of "political meddlers" seeking accountability for Siniša Mali regarding Savamala, as reported by Serbian media.

- The fact that you are just looking for someone's head, that I jokingly said someone wants to execute Siniša Mali, that was a wrong metaphor, many would want to do that not to Siniša Mali, but to me. That is the ultimate goal of these political meddlers and swindlers, Vučić told reporters in Subotica.

He told them that he has no problem with that because the people see who is working and who is fighting for the future of Serbia.

- Attack me, don't say you are interested in Siniša Mali, because you are not, you are interested in Aleksandar Vučić. I die of laughter and happiness when I see who is trying to bring me down, what a gathering of idlers. You will never see the movie where they defeat me, he said.

Vučić added that he was not informed about the operation, that something bad was done, and that the state admitted responsibility for that event, but that this will never be enough for the public.

- By chance, I didn't know about that operation, if I had known, I would have told them to take the excavators and demolish during the day and give me an excavator to sit in, to remove that criminal eyesore. They didn't ask me, they didn't say a word, they carried out what is bad, we bear responsibility for that, but it's not enough for you, said Vučić.

He stated that no one's resignation will be enough, because they will always find something else, someone's mistake, in order to attack him.

He assessed that Savamala is actually a political-media operation, not a real problem.

- We will wait to see what the competent authorities say, and whether someone will take personal responsibility is their own matter, and I am not interested in that, said Vučić when asked if Mali would resign.

Vučić said that his conscience is clear, unlike those who have to impose topics that are not topics, because they do not like, for example, that they cannot say that there is no economic growth in Serbia.

- Neither anyone was killed, nor anyone was injured, nor anyone was tied up, as they lied in various ways, said Vučić.

Vučić said he is sure that citizens have thousands of more important topics every day.

- Unlike those who killed under masks, we have solved that problem and as a state admitted responsibility, that shows how much more modern and decent Serbia is..., said Vučić, adding that no one raised the issue of demolishing buildings under the "blue bridge", nor the demolition with dynamite in Šilerova street.

Consultations with those with whom I think I can cooperate

Aleksandar Vučić announced that next week he will continue consultations on forming a new government and that he will invite only those with whom he thinks he can cooperate and reach an agreement.

When asked when he plans the second round of negotiations for the government, Vučić says he will conduct them next week, but not in front of the cameras.

- I did this (this week's consultations) because I think that kind of decency and responsibility is something new in Serbia, but I will not say a single word. I want to invite those with whom I think I can cooperate and reach an agreement if possible, said Vučić.
