Vučić responded to Izetbegović regarding the lawsuit announcement: You are looking for an excuse for new violence

Prime Minister of the Government of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić stated that the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH Bakir Izetbegović is looking for "an excuse to start a new spiral of violence" because Izetbegović said that there is a possibility of revising the lawsuit against Serbia for aggression and genocide, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

Vučić told Belgrade's Politika that he was not surprised by the news from Sarajevo.

- In my first statement after the verdict against (Radovan) Karadžić was delivered, I did not even mention Bakir Izetbegović, but by all accounts, I correctly sensed that someone does not want reconciliation in the region, but is going against 35 percent of the population of their own country and is looking for any sufficient reason to start a spiral, first of political, and then who knows what kind of violence" - Vučić told "Politika".

Vučić also stated that "they want peace and sincere reconciliation above all, not lawsuits and revisions of lawsuits." 

-       It is obvious that we do not have a partner and that some have taken all this as an opportunity to take revenge on Serbs instead of reconciliation. And that is where our view of the future differs from theirs - concluded Vučić.

We remind you that Izetbegović told reporters on Monday that legal experts in BiH are analyzing the verdict to determine if it offers new elements based on which it would be possible to initiate a revision of the proceedings regarding the lawsuit for aggression and genocide.

We will not sweep the suffering that these peoples and this country have gone through under the rug, and we will initiate a revision, but we need new evidence - said Izetbegović, adding that the Serbian people have a chance to get rid of collective guilt.

In February 2007, the International Court of Justice rejected BiH's lawsuit against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia for aggression and genocide as unfounded, and a deadline of 10 years was given for BiH to gather new evidence for a new lawsuit. The deadline for this is February 2017.
