Vučić: From today, we will not pay attention to statements coming from Croatia

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić stated that from today, members of the Serbian Government will refrain from commenting on negative statements coming from Croatia these days, and he urged Croats not to disown their fascist past.

- We want them to stop with the policy in which they want to present Croatia and Serbia as two immature and underdeveloped countries playing ping pong - Vučić said at a press conference at the Government of Serbia.

He said he regretted that Croatian officials would not disown that kind of fascist past, which was manifested in their comments on the anniversaries of Serb suffering that were marked these days, and that they would not say they disagreed with it and that they most strongly condemned those crimes.

- We are not asking them to say it was genocide, although it was, but only to express condolences and remorse to the families of the victims, and not to condemn the grandchildren of the victims in their statements while glorifying the grandfathers who were executioners - said Vučić.

He said that having an enemy takes the most time, and Serbia needs time for more serious things than enemies.

- They said that I called the action of liberating Croatian homes a crime, and that I used expressions like gouging out Serbian eyes, and that these are not metaphors that lead to good relations. I wish they were metaphors, but unfortunately, they are not - said Vučić.

The Prime Minister emphasized that Serbia will continue with the policy of preserving full peace and stability, and that it will continue to build and foster relations, especially with Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

As he said, the policy of peace and stability is the hallmark of the Government of Serbia, as is the protection of sovereignty and freedom.

- We want to continue such a trend in the future, but at the same time, we strive for cooperation with Croatia, because if people live better in Croatia, I am convinced that the citizens of Serbia will benefit from it - the Prime Minister said.
