Vučić on the situation in Kosovo: They didn't give us a chance

(Patria) - Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić is a guest on TV Prva, where he spoke about all current developments ahead of his trip to Brussels, as well as about talks with Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti.

Speaking about the imposition of sanctions on Russia, Vučić said:

“I think it was not good to impose sanctions, because we know who all imposed sanctions on us. It is not a problem for me to explain to people when the moment comes that we must, but Serbia has so far shown that it has enough strength and wisdom to endure. The Serbian state has proven stronger, more serious, more responsible. Some attack me, saying 'Vučić stubbornly insists we do not impose sanctions,' and I stubbornly insist on protecting the interests of Serbia and the citizens of Serbia,” said Vučić.

Speaking about the chanting from the stands, which, as the host said, is believed to come from supporters of the Veljko Belivuk clan, Vučić said:

“That is a message to the citizens of Serbia. Of course, the majority of the hall did not chant that, but it is enough for a third of the hall to shout it. It is always organized. I am glad that it turned out this way, that people understand that no one shouts 'Vučić you faggot' at me because Partizan was shortchanged in the budget. Apart from Partizan and Red Star, there is no club in Europe that receives as much money from the state. Am I a faggot because I did not impose sanctions on Russia? If that is the reason, fine. Am I a faggot because I did not recognize independent Kosovo? That is also fine. I accept it, I will remain such. Am I a faggot because we built the most kilometers of highways in Europe? I accept that you shout whatever you need to, but it is clear to all of you what the reason is. They themselves wrote what the reason is. The reason is that the butchers, murderers, and drug dealers have been arrested,” he added.

Regarding talks on how to improve the Franco-German proposal concerning Kosovo, Vučić said there is no progress because Belgrade “was not given a chance.”

“I have never commented on it in detail, although we wrote a response in a non-paper. If you ask me, I am not saying we rejected it, nor that we accepted it, because we are ready to talk, but simply, they did not give us a chance,” said Vučić.
