Vučić: No talk of recognition and Kosovo's membership in the UN

(Patria) - Serbia is ready to work on the implementation of many things from the European plan for Kosovo, but we have also presented one clear and major objection - there is no talk of mutual recognition, recognition, nor Kosovo's membership in the UN, said Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić today.

- I told that to Macron and Scholz in Munich, and to all the great leaders. Lajčak and Borrell also know this, and I reiterated it yesterday.

The point is that I do not want and cannot talk about mutual recognition and about Kosovo's entry into the UN - Vučić told RTS.

He emphasized that he is open to discussing everything else.

- Not because it only leads us further on our European path, which is important, but because it is good for the relations between Serbs and Albanians. There are countless points there that are important - assessed Vučić, speaking about the European proposal for an agreement on the path to normalizing relations between Serbia and Kosovo.

He stated that the roadmap was not agreed upon at yesterday's meeting in Brussels, but that Serbia's position is that recognition and Kosovo's membership in the UN cannot be included in the implementation plan, and that talks will follow on this matter.

He explains that the European proposal has de facto become a framework for the negotiation process that cannot be negotiated, but he emphasized that as long as he is president, he will not sign, accept, neither formally nor informally, the recognition of Kosovo, nor Kosovo's entry into the UN.
