Vučić announces major arming of Serbia

(Patria) - Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has announced a major arming of the country.

- The Serbian army must be much stronger than it is today, although it is incomparably stronger than it was. We must invest huge amounts of money in the defense industry and the army.

I had a conversation with Prime Minister Ana Brnabić and Finance Minister Siniša Mali. We are looking not to harm anyone or anything in the country, while drastically raising our operational-functional capabilities, meaning combat readiness - Vučić said at the international arms fair in Abu Dhabi.

He emphasizes that the plan is to procure 200 heavy weapons from domestic production in 2023 and 2024, which is about 300 million euros, and that there is great interest from foreign buyers in purchasing weapons from Serbia, N1 reports.

Vučić added that in the last 70-80 years there has not been such intensive arming in the world as today.
