Vučić wisely silent: Nikolić wants to be president again, Dačić furious, Šešelj raging

Serbian President Tomislav Nikolić will run in the upcoming presidential elections, Russian Sputnik announced on Wednesday evening, Patria reports.

Nikolić made the decision to enter the electoral race last night at the celebration of his 65th birthday, Sputnik states. Nikolić stated earlier today that he was not surprised by the voting result at the meeting of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), which decided to nominate the SNS president and current Serbian Prime Minister, Aleksandar Vučić, in the presidential elections.

When asked by journalists if he had given up his candidacy, Nikolić briefly replied: "We will agree...".

Reactions to Nikolić's decision were not long in coming. Tanjug managed to contact the SNS president and Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić, and when asked about Tomislav Nikolić's candidacy, Vučić remained silent and offered no comment.

While Vučić is without comment, Foreign Minister Ivica Dačić is furious. He stated that "if it is true that Nikolić has run, it is shameful that he has joined the pleiad of candidates against Vučić".

Hague indictee and warmonger Vojislav Šešelj has not stopped posting on Twitter since the news of Nikolić's candidacy was announced.
