Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić is travelling to Mostar tomorrow, where he will meet with BiH Presidency member Bakir Izetbegović as part of efforts to reduce recent tensions, and announced that he will pay a similar visit to Croatia in the coming weeks, writes the Politico portal today, reports the Patria News Agency.
“The stability of the region is what we should care about, and we must understand each other better and more,” Vučić told the portal.
According to him, recent Hague verdicts have fueled a tense atmosphere not seen in years.
“My biggest concern is the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said the Serbian Prime Minister, adding that rising political extremism in the Balkans poses a threat to stability in BiH and the region.
“Who knows what spark could ignite Bosnia,” he said.
Vučić warned that the provocations that followed the verdicts on all sides, including the fact that Šešelj's supporters celebrated in Srebrenica, have created a powder keg.
“From mid-March, from time to time, it seemed like we had returned to the 90s,” Vučić told Politico.
“The only important topics here were Karadžić's verdict, Serbia-Bosnia relations, Serbia-Croatia relations, and when we would start with real reconciliation. Like some time machine,” he said.
