Vučić: Peace and stability are more necessary than ever

Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić attended the opening of the Prnjavor-Doboj highway section today. The ceremony was also attended by the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik and other top officials of the smaller BiH entity.

- We want to show with this that we are developing and that we want to stay here - Dodik stated at the opening of the Banja Luka – Doboj highway section, named "9. January", on the route between Prnjavor and Doboj.

The construction of this first highway section lasted four years and was financed by loan funds from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in the amount of 185 million euros.

The President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik today opened the newly built section of the "9. January" highway on the route between Prnjavor and Doboj. Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić also attended the opening.

Vučić emphasized that they had agreed a few months ago to attend the opening of the highway section.

- Many said what is 36 kilometers, it's a trifle, small and not important for the Prime Minister to come. Those who built know how much 36 kilometers is, and it is a lot. Our obligation is to connect. All this shows that we want to build, not to destroy. I know that what I say is sometimes not popular. Peace and stability are more necessary than ever. Highways are not built for tanks to travel on, but for people to connect. It is good that the highway will reach the border with Zagreb, with Serbia, with Sarajevo - Vučić said.

He added that his wish is that in the future we never count the dead again.

- That is what is important. Lower the tensions, calm the tensions. In peace, through our hard work, we will progress the fastest. If Serbia is strong, the people in Republika Srpska will see it. That is what we want to do. I ask you, do everything you can, always and at all times. Respecting our heroic past, I hope we will know how to choose the right path. We had courage in abundance, we need wisdom and chivalry today and we will need it tomorrow. Only then will we be able to live with our neighbors, the Bosniaks - Vučić added.
