Vučić elected President of SNS

The electoral assembly of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) unanimously elected Aleksandar Vučić as the party president today. Vučić announced his proposals for party vice presidents, who were then elected by the Main Board. Vučić stated that SNS must change, end the principle of holding office for 20 years, and announced frequent changes, reports Blic.rs, as conveyed by the BH News Agency Patria.

Jorgovanka Tabaković was elected as Vučić's deputy, her position remaining frozen while she heads the National Bank of Serbia.

- The vice presidents are Milenko Jovanov from Kikinda, Miloš Vučević from Novi Sad, Marko Đurić from Belgrade, and Marija Obradović from Kraljevo. I will propose Darko Glišić for the president of the Executive Board today, who will not be able to be the mayor of Ub - said Vučić.

Upon their election, the party's vice presidents stated that, along with the honor, they also bear a great responsibility to continue with the changes that their leader Aleksandar Vučić initiated in the previous term.

The electoral assembly also elected a new SNS Presidency, which will consist of 42 members, instead of the previous 30, as well as a new Main Board.

Today's electoral assembly, which elected the new leadership, was attended by 3,862 delegates, out of a total of 4,000.

The leader of the Progressives called on the Main Board, also elected today, to authorize the party's presidency to conduct negotiations on forming coalitions at the republican and provincial levels.
