Vučić and Vulin on the wall of the labor inspector's office in Čačak

In addition to the friendly labor inspectors, two smiling Alexanders, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and his namesake, Minister of Defense Vulin, have recently been welcoming citizens and entrepreneurs visiting their office in the center of Čačak from the wall, writes Radio Free Europe, reports NAP.

Their two large portraits were hung at the initiative of the coordinator of the labor inspection of the Morava district, Vladimir Radosavljević. 

He does not see hanging these photos as an act of idolatry, as the first comments on his gesture suggested.

"I see it completely differently. It's a picture of the head of state and a picture of the minister who led the Ministry of Labor," said Radosavljević.

He thus became a civil servant in Serbia who took a step whose mere proposal just over a month ago divided the public and inspired many local satirists.

Namely, Aleksandar Vulin himself, shortly after taking office as Minister of Defense, came up with the proposal to place Vučić's picture in military facilities.

Hanging photographs of state presidents in institutions is not uncommon in many democratic countries, but given the energy with which the ruling forces in Serbia are building the cult of Aleksandar Vučić, the subsequent discussions did not surprise anyone.
