(Patria) - Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić have been invited to Brussels tomorrow for a series of individual meetings with certain EU leaders, confirmed EU spokesperson Peter Stano.
According to him, the meetings that the leaders of Kosovo and Serbia will have represent a continuation of the process that began last weekend, when the so-called "Big Five" visited Pristina and Belgrade.
- The idea is for these meetings to be held on the sidelines of the EU summit as support for the return to dialogue.
The EU's message is that we expect both sides, Serbia and Kosovo, to immediately and unhindered return to the obligations arising from the dialogue, to immediately work on de-escalation and the resumption of dialogue - said Stano.
Vučić and Kurti will be received by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, French President Emmanuel Macron, and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, as learned by Radio Free Europe (RSE) from its sources.
European Head of Diplomacy Josep Borrell will also be present at both separate meetings.
Stano announced that Borrell will later inform the heads of state and government about the state of the normalization of relations process during the two-day EU summit. He also added that a joint meeting between Kurti and Vučić is not planned.
However, some diplomatic sources in Brussels have hinted that whether a joint meeting between the Kosovo Prime Minister and the Serbian President will take place later, within the framework of the dialogue on the normalization of relations, will depend on the meetings with the European leaders.
