Vučić and Kurti with Borrell: Declaration on Missing Persons Adopted

(Patria) - At today's meeting in Brussels between Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, the Declaration on Missing Persons was adopted, which was welcomed by the European Union.

The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, announced that the European Union expects both sides to make tangible progress in resolving the cases of missing persons and fulfilling their obligations to the families.

The statement said that the Joint Monitoring Committee, chaired by the EU, which oversees the implementation of the Agreement on the Path to Normalization and its Implementation Annex, will regularly review the progress made.

It was added that Vučić and Kurti confirmed the importance of resolving the fate of the remaining missing persons, in order to end the suffering of their loved ones and promote lasting reconciliation and peace.

"Both sides recognized the issue of missing persons as humanitarian and stressed the urgent need for additional joint efforts to alleviate the situation of the affected families and the wider community," the statement added.
