Vučić ordered Dodik to sign the SAA and showed that Serbia is (de)blocking Bosnia and Herzegovina's European path

Milorad Dodik, President of Republika Srpska, visited Belgrade today where he met with Aleksandar Vučić, Prime Minister of Serbia, and held a press conference. Vučić said that he proposed to Dodik to sign the SAA to show the "commitment of the Serbian people across the Drina to European integration", writes Blic.rs, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

- For the further progress of Serbia's economy, it is of key interest to preserve peace and stability in the region, and that is why I am very pleased that Milorad Dodik spoke with the German Minister of Agriculture, Christian Schmidt, yesterday - said Vučić, adding that it is very important to sign the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) with the EU.

Vučić also added that the decision on signing this agreement rests with Dodik and Republika Srpska.

Dodik said that he is grateful to Vučić for organizing the meeting with Schmidt and that he discussed with him how to "compensate for the losses that Bosnia and Herzegovina will incur due to the signing of the SAA".

At the joint press conference with Dodik, Vučić stated that the relations between Serbia and Republika Srpska are very good, and that he will soon visit the Herzegovina part of Republika Srpska to determine how Serbia can help that region.

At the press conference, Vučić said that Dodik is a man of the highest authority, and that he begged him to achieve additional unity in Republika Srpska.

- We from Serbia will help what we can, but peace and stability are key for us - said Vučić.

Meetings with Ivanić and Bosić

Vučić announced that in the coming days he will also meet with other politicians from Republika Srpska, those in power, but also others from the opposition, because he believes that they can agree on "good" things that are in the interests of Serbs. As he said, answering a journalist's question, in the coming days he expects a meeting with Mladen Ivanić and Mladen Bosić, which Dodik will also attend.
