(Patria) - Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić stated that the expansion of coronavirus in Serbia, judging by the experience of other countries, can be expected in three days. Vučić emphasized that Serbia faces a difficult period, but that the state is ready to overcome the situation it is facing due to the virus.
"We must be prepared for the difficult days that are yet to come," Vučić said, adding that state institutions have enough tests for the new virus.
After a meeting of the economic crisis staff, Vučić appealed at a press conference for citizens, especially the elderly population, to be disciplined and not leave their homes unless absolutely necessary.
He stated that out of 41 infected individuals, 21 are hospitalized, and only one patient is on a respirator, while the number of ventilators whose procurement he personally oversees is now a state secret.
He recalled that in Italy, where 250 people died yesterday, there were no deaths among those under 29 years of age.
Vučić said that Serbia has done a great job in the past 24 hours to ensure control and oversight of basic foodstuffs, and that there is enough wheat and flour.
