SERBIA, (Patria) - President Aleksandar Vučić told RTS that he does not think they are far or close to making a decision on a 24-hour movement ban, and that it is being assessed on a daily basis. He announced that in the future, the curfew will most likely be from Friday to Monday on weekends. The president says he hopes that the state of emergency will be lifted in a month, perhaps even earlier.
In Serbia, there are a total of 2,447 infected people, and 1,394 people have been hospitalized.
He emphasized that Serbia was in a more difficult situation than 95 or 96 percent of countries because it had a large influx of people proportional to its population - 400,000 people. He adds that this is now largely under control.
He says that certain hotspots were not avoided, but that the virus was brought in from outside everywhere.
"You cannot blame anyone for that. These people came to a better place, but some knew they were bringing the infection with them," said Vučić.
He states that Belgrade is undoubtedly the biggest hotspot and that there is some good news because the latest tests show better estimates for Valjevo, although this does not mean anything yet. He adds that Ćuprija is also somewhat calmer, Niš slightly calmer, but Belgrade remains the biggest problem.
Hospitals in Belgrade are already full of patients.
