Vučić: If we had to give up partnership with Russia, Serbia could face problems

I think we can perform more successfully and with more confidence if we perform together with Americans, Russians, and Europeans. After all, we live here together, not someone else. We often behave as if the Dutch, Swedes, Russians, or Americans live here instead of us, which is not the case, said Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić in an interview with Večernji list, responding to a question about how to influence the future of the Western Balkans.

When told that Serbia is on the European path but also insists on partnerships with Russia and China, and asked if such a policy is possible, Vučić said that it has been possible so far.

“As you could see, we have resolved some of our major economic problems with the help of the People's Republic of China, with whom we also have the most infrastructure projects. We also have partnership relations with Russia... So far, such cooperation with everyone has been possible.

What if it is not possible?

“I hope it doesn’t come to that, but if it does, it could result in internal problems in Serbia, and I don’t know how it would end,” Vučić said.

When asked if Croats in BiH have reason to worry if a Serbian-Bosniak agreement is reached, Vučić said that a Serbian-Bosniak agreement concerns important matters, but no agreements are possible without Bosniaks, Serbs, and Croats, and they will never be at the expense of Croats. In the interview, Vučić also said that he considers Dragan Čović a rational and reasonable leader and that he looks forward to visiting Mostar for the fair, reports NAP.
