Serbian government to pay Croatia one million euros in aid

(Patria) - The Serbian government has decided to send one million euros in financial aid to the Republic of Croatia to help eliminate the consequences of the devastating earthquake, it was announced on Wednesday after the government session in Belgrade.

"Government members expressed regret over the loss of human lives in this natural disaster, and the funds are intended to help rebuild destroyed buildings, many of which are of public importance," the government statement said.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić requested the government to send one million euros in aid to Croatia to address the consequences in the earthquake-affected area.

In front of the Croatian Embassy in Belgrade, a gathering was held where civil society organizations expressed support and solidarity with the citizens of Croatia in the affected areas.

"Neither the coronavirus, nor the rain, nor the earthquakes can prevent us from loving our friends, respecting each other, and in these harsh circumstances showing through solidarity and support that much more unites us than divides us, because we share this space together," activist Aida Ćorović said.
