Faithful in BiH collected aid for the people of Macedonia affected by severe floods

Thousands of Muslim faithful in Bosnia and Herzegovina collected aid for the citizens of Macedonia after severe floods hit the country. Aid was collected in all mosques in BiH, after yesterday's Friday prayer, writes NAP. 

The Islamic Community in BiH stated that BiH went through a similar experience in 2014 when the country was hit by large and sudden floods, and therefore the citizens of BiH understand the situation, suffering, and needs of the Macedonian people.

Reis-ul-ulema of the Islamic Community in BiH Husein-ef. Kavazović instructed that aid collection be organized in all mosques in BiH and the diaspora.

At the beginning of August, Macedonia was hit by severe weather that caused catastrophic floods. 21 people lost their lives, while dozens were injured and missing, and more than 1,000 were evacuated from Skopje and surrounding areas. A significant number of people were accommodated in reception centers, while some families were housed with friends and relatives. The floods caused extensive material damage, hundreds of houses and roads were destroyed, and several areas were left without electricity, writes Patria.
