(Patria) - The storm and flood in Slovenia have claimed at least three lives - an elderly man died in the Kamnik area, and two Dutch citizens in the mountains near Kranj.

According to initial information from the police, it appears the man in Kamnik died in the flood, and the Dutch citizens from a lightning strike.

Social media is flooded with terrifying footage of water torrents sweeping everything away. One such video was posted by a Slovenian with the description 'apocalypse', showing a water torrent carrying gas tanks from a yard!

Due to the heavy rain that fell incessantly on Friday night, Slovenia is paralyzed, some parts are in complete chaos, and sirens have sounded all over the country. The worst is in the north and west of the country. There is no end in sight to the heavy rains, warned meteorologist Brane Gregorčič from the Slovenian Environment Agency yesterday.
