Major opponent of Dodik, Adam Šukalo, becomes Vučić's advisor

(Patria) - Adam Šukalo was appointed advisor to the President of Serbia for regional affairs, effective March 15, 2023, it was announced in the Official Gazette.

Šukalo became widely known to the public when he was arrested by the Republika Srpska police in 2022 on suspicion of vote-buying ahead of the elections. His arrest was presented as political by the opposition, and journalist Slobodan Vasković reported at the time that his arrest was ordered by Milorad Dodik.

Adam Šukalo supports the group "Justice for David".

After his arrest, the District Public Prosecutor's Office in Banja Luka did not question the arrested individuals.

"The duty prosecutor of the District Public Prosecutor's Office in Banja Luka was informed by police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska, Directorate for Criminal Police, about the existence of operational knowledge that there is a possibility of influencing voters by six individuals, who will be questioned on these circumstances. Six individuals were questioned informatively, and after questioning, the individuals left the official premises of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska. Regarding your question whether the individuals will be called for questioning at the Prosecutor's Office, we inform you that the mentioned individuals will not be called for questioning at the Prosecutor's Office," it was announced at the time.

From the perspective of the relationship between Aleksandar Vučić and Milorad Dodik, which many claim to be permanently damaged, this move is very interesting because Šukalo is considered a major political opponent of the President of Republika Srpska, N1 reports.
