For 15 years, Croatian politicians have been ignoring the Constitutional Court of BiH: "Županija" is an unconstitutional name for a canton!

Only the decision of the National Assembly of RS to hold a referendum on September 25, where citizens will vote on the decision of the Constitutional Court of BiH which is "final and binding" opened Pandora's box called non-fulfillment of almost 90 decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH.

Those who were supposed to implement them, from holders of executive to legislative power, have not lifted a finger for over 15 years to comply with the decisions of the highest judicial instance in the country, writes the Patria News Agency.

One of the most famous decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH, which state officials, naturally under the political mentorship of HDZ BiH, once embodied by Ante Jelavić, and today by Dragan Čović, ignore daily, is the one on the unconstitutionality of the name "županija" (county).

As early as 2001, the Constitutional Court of BiH confirmed the verdict of the Constitutional Court of FBiH and decided that the constitutional name for the administrative unit is "kanton" (canton) and that it is managed by a president.

With the same decision, the names "županija" and "guverner" (governor), which have been continuously used for 15 years by cantons with a Croatian majority, were declared unconstitutional.

Nevertheless, these names are still in everyday use today. Not only in public appearances of politicians, but also on official documents, on signs with the names of institutions....

For 15 years now, this decision of the Constitutional Court of BiH has not been respected on the political scene in our country. Even Bosniak politicians no longer react to this, for whom it has become quite normal to hear the unconstitutional name "županija" in daily communication with their Croatian partners.
