(Patria) - KFOR has tripled its forces in northern Kosovo following the attack by local Serbs in Banjska, the mission announced.
The number of patrols, as they stated, has tripled, including those along the border line with Serbia.
“Following the events of September 24, NATO deployed almost 1,000 additional soldiers as part of KFOR,” KFOR stated, as reported by “Kossev”.
KFOR states that these are prudent steps to ensure that they can continue to fulfill their mandate based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 to ensure a safe and secure environment for all people at all times and impartially. The NATO mission in Kosovo emphasizes that the situation in the north of the Province is now calmer, but still fragile.
