Sisak Murderer Detained for One Month

(Patria) - Nedžad Fetić, the 58-year-old murderer from Sisak, has been ordered into one month of pre-trial detention, HRT reports.

Fetić killed a 45-year-old woman on Saturday, wounded several people, and set fire to houses and cars.

The decision on pre-trial detention was confirmed due to the possibility of re-offending, as well as the possibility of influencing witnesses. The motive for the attack is still unknown.

Earlier, his court-appointed lawyer, Danko Kovač, was present during his questioning by the county state attorney, but he could not speak about the attacker's defense.

He only mentioned that he had presented the defense during the police interrogation. He added that the suspect is accused of several serious criminal offenses.

These include the murder of 45-year-old Ivana J., as well as multiple attempted murders, meaning the wounding of several people, four of whom were seriously injured.

(Patria) - In the Sisak settlement of Kanak in Croatia, a man fired a Kalashnikov rifle. One person died, Index.hr reports. As Večernji list learns, several people were injured. The settlement is blocked, and a large number of police officers are on the scene.

A statement has been announced by the County State Attorney's Office. After the questioning at the County State Attorney's Office, Fetić was taken before the investigating judge, who decided on his detention.

The condition of the seriously injured is slightly better, and all are more stable. According to anesthesiologist Gorazd Piličić from the Department of Anesthesiology, the two most seriously injured patients, aged 34 and 58, who underwent surgery after being shot in the abdomen, are now stable.

Both are awake, no longer on respirators, and have been removed from the pressure support devices. They have also started communicating with their surroundings.

Despite the improvement, their injuries are still being treated as life-threatening. The other two patients, who are not in life-threatening condition, are also doing better.
