Zagreb has the highest risk of earthquakes: This leaflet will save your life

The Zagreb Office for Emergency Management has prepared an educational leaflet for citizens on how to behave before, during, and after an earthquake, which will be delivered to all households in Zagreb by the end of this week, reports the Patria News Agency.

The leaflet "Earthquake", which Zagrebački Holding and APIS will distribute along with the unified utility bill, contains practical information for citizens' self-protection – how to behave and what to do before, during, and after an earthquake, as well as basic information about earthquakes and procedures preceding evacuation.

The leaflet is printed in 370,000 copies, and this is the third leaflet on the topic of earthquakes prepared by that Office. The first leaflet was purely educational and contained practical information for self-protection, i.e., how to behave and what to do during and after an earthquake, and where to take shelter.

The second leaflet added to the information all marked reception and evacuation areas for setting up tent settlements in case of an earthquake, as well as evacuation corridors.

This third leaflet, however, contains information for survival in case of a disaster and includes an open invitation to citizens to join the Civil Protection. The reason for issuing the third leaflet on earthquakes, the Office states, is their awareness that earthquakes pose the greatest risk to the City of Zagreb, which has also been confirmed in the Risk Assessment for the Republic of Croatia, writes Index.
