(Patria) - A small amount of sulfuric acid spilled in a Zagreb high school yesterday.
Jutarnji list writes that students were wearing protective clothing, including lab coats and gloves, but one student dropped a bottle of sulfuric acid.
It is a medical-focused school, and reportedly three students were treated by emergency medical personnel.
The City confirmed that a minor incident occurred at a medical high school.
- Ambulance and other supervisory services were present. According to our information, the girl who dropped the bottle has a minor burn and received medical cream. Nothing dramatic happened - they said in the City.
Some schools use sulfuric acid for conducting experiments. As a chemistry professor explains, they buy it in concentrated or diluted form, depending on the possibilities and the type of experiment.
- Of course, all chemicals are dangerous, none are not, but this is not something to panic about. Something like this hasn't happened in at least 15-20 years - says this professor.
