Serbia: 81 new cases today, 24 patients on ventilators

SERBIA, (Patria) - Another 81 people have tested positive for coronavirus, bringing the total number of infected in Serbia to 384, it was announced at a regular press conference. This is the highest number of registered cases in a single day, but the majority of them do not have the most severe clinical manifestations. Serbia has recorded four victims of Covid-19, as a woman who was an employee of the Health Center in Niš died today. There are 2014 patients in the hospital, and 24 people are on ventilators. 

Mayor Zoran Radojičić told the citizens of Belgrade that we will win this fight and that the key is wisdom and courage.

Members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are inviting interested individuals to join them as volunteers in providing assistance to citizens over 65 years of age and other risk groups of the population. A curfew for all citizens from 5 AM to 5 PM has begun in Serbia.  

3,000 beds have been set up in the hall of the Belgrade Fair, where patients with mild cases will be accommodated so as not to endanger their families. Due to the increase in the number of infected individuals and the needs of the healthcare system, the arrival of healthcare workers from the diaspora is planned.
