Serbia reports 528 infected, Vučić warns of difficult weeks ahead

SERBIA, (Patria) - Serbia entered its fourth week with 528 cases of coronavirus infection, while nine people have died. The virus has been registered in 35 cities across the country.

Chinese expert for infectious disease control and prevention Peng Zhijian is convinced that Serbia will manage to bring the coronavirus epidemic under control in a month or two.

"Your leadership shows great determination, the people trust the government. And I believe it will be so," Peng told Novosti.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said that difficult weeks await Serbia, during which five, and even 20 deaths per day can be expected.

"In three to four days, expect 200, 500 people in hospitals. Chinese doctors and ours agree that we cannot do much about it except to ask people to stay home. People, do not seek permits to violate the curfew," said Vučić.
