Exhibition 'Siege of Sarajevo' opened in Pristina, Kurti says photos show the horror of genocide in Bosnia and Herzegovina

(Patria) - Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti attended last night in Pristina the opening of the first International Photography Festival FOTOIST, which began with the exhibition "Siege of Sarajevo" by photographer Paul Lowe.

The photographs, as Kurti said, depict "the horror of the genocide in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was repeated in Kosovo not many years later."

- Tens of thousands of victims, just because they wanted to live in their own country and be free - added the Kosovo prime minister, as reported by Kosovo Online.

Kurti pointed out that the photographs in the "Siege of Sarajevo" exhibition preserve the difficult moments of a country in the region that suffered greatly "under the siege of enemy forces organized at the time by Serbia."

- These photographs ensure we do not forget, and it is even better when done with top-notch aesthetics - Kurti said.

He added that the Kosovo government prioritizes art and culture, as they consider them an important part of comprehensive education for all.
