First black comedy in BiH production coming soon to cinemas: "Na birou" is a story about tyranny over workers

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - A domestic comedy "Na birou", produced in BiH, will soon be showing in BiH cinemas.

The film's story follows five working days of a young team employed in a small company "Enserio import-export". They are too proud to have a job, so they are not very interested in what they do, as long as they can boast that they are not unemployed. However, after their boss, who is also a tyrant, announces that the company is suddenly in a process of expansion and that an inspection is scheduled, most of them start to wonder what they are actually selling.

The person responsible for all this is the film's director, Mirnes Rašljanin, who pointed out that the casting was open in four BiH cities, but that he could not have expected to have such success in selecting actors.

“A large casting was held in Sarajevo, Tuzla, Mostar and Zenica where any interested person could apply. It didn't matter whether they were amateurs or professionals, but in the end we got people who were the best for the roles,” said Rašljanin.

He adds that the film is a black comedy not yet seen in our region.

“Although the humor is international and different, the theme and stories are of our character. We tried to make each scene have multiple layers of jokes that will be built over time and have a hilarious ending,” explained Rašljanin.

On the big screen, among others, we will see Husnija Ćoralić, a young actor originally from Cazin, who took his first steps on the stage at the Tuzla Academy of Performing Arts, where he also graduated in acting.

He said that this is his first film role, his first stress and responsibility given that he played the lead role. He plays Vedad, one of the employees in the company.

“This is a completely new experience for me, and every experience builds confidence for actors. Then confidence builds the opportunity for new experiences, and so on in a circle, until the desired goal is achieved. The very fact that you are now reading about a young actor talking about a film he is in speaks for itself that opportunities exist. They don't come from dreams, dreams should be built through these small opportunities and work, persistence and patience,” commented Ćoralić.

He emphasizes that he does not have high expectations given the state of domestic cinema, but he would like the film to become known among the people.

“Since this is my first film experience, I cannot say that I am satisfied or dissatisfied with the filming, I had nothing to compare it to at the time. I saw it as an adventure and let myself go. Honestly, I don't have any excessive expectations, but I would like the film to become known. When the film sees the light of day, it should find its way, and it is up to the production to show its skill,” concluded the young actor.

"Na birou" also features roles played by Zlatan Aleksijević, Nadan Arnautović, Jelena Kesić, Haris Palo, Haris Rašljanin, Samir Sabrihafizović, Emir Novalić, Božana Martić, Alen Duliman and Feđa Zahirović.

Behind the entire project is the Film and Art Association Triljud, which is actively engaged in promoting art and culture, primarily through video production and film, but also through other branches of art.

As it consists of young people eager to learn and create, the film did not secure sponsors to cover the filming costs. They were left to their own devices, investing their own resources in creating this comedy.

However, the filming was supported by the company "Vispak", and the municipalities of Ilidža and Jablanica.
