(Patria) - In the first part of July, 1.7 million tourists arrived in Croatia, achieving 10.8 million overnight stays, which is the same result as in the same period last year, and currently there are nearly 900,000 tourists in the country, according to data from the Croatian Tourist Board (HTZ).
"We are satisfied with the results from the first part of the year and July. We are in the peak of the season, with nearly 900,000 tourists currently in the country. We soon expect this number to exceed one million tourists on a daily basis staying in Croatian destinations," commented HTZ director Kristjan Staničić.
He also says that currently the most tourists are in Istria, Split-Dalmatia County and Kvarner, while among destinations, the most are on Vir, in Rovinj, Umag, Poreč, Medulin and Dubrovnik.
Among tourists, the most are Germans, Slovenians and domestic visitors, followed by Austrians, Czechs and Poles.
