Two BiH citizens and one Serbian national died in Croatia, driver from BiH in serious condition

(Patria) - Two people were killed and two were injured in a traffic accident that occurred on Tuesday around 7 PM near the exit of the Učka tunnel in Croatia.

The accident happened when a 27-year-old citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina was driving a car, with Bosnian and Herzegovinian license plates, from the direction of Rijeka towards Vranja at a speed exceeding the limit.

Upon exiting the tunnel and approaching a right turn, the driver did not adjust the speed of movement to the road conditions, but instead turned left and hit traffic signage, and then a part of the toll station's traffic island.

Two passengers, 37-year-old and 27-year-old citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, died at the scene. Their bodies were transported to the Pathology Department of the Pula hospital for an autopsy, as ordered by the competent state attorney.

The driver and another passenger from the vehicle, a 25-year-old citizen of Serbia, were transported to the Rijeka hospital, where it was determined that they were seriously injured and were kept for treatment.

A criminal investigation will be conducted on the car driver when possible due to his health condition," stated the Istrian Police Department.

Croatian media report that one more person died.
